Don and Ann have opened the old Adams Country Store, and are reinvigorating the building with their energy, creating a hardware store with most everything you might need, and a bunch of stuff you may not need, but is too charming to pass up. Several local artisans have work there, as well as basic stuff you may need. Stop by, and just walk around the store for a taste of old Florida! Affordable canoe and kayak rentals, and shuttling services. They can provide all the equipment, or just a shuttle if you have your own boats and safety equipment.

Hiking opportunites abound, the Florida Trail runs through White Springs and along the Suwannee River.

Spring Hopping - Take a dip in one of the many refreshing springs located the local rivers.

Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park
The fall season at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park revolves around the river and trails. Flowers bloom throughout the season amid dense green foliage and native species include blazing star, ladies tresses, Spanish needle and palmetto. Bird watchers may easily spot several species of woodpeckers, hawks, herons, ducks, owls and other birds and wildlife. The park offers a section of the Florida Scenic Trail that skirts along the edge of the Suwannee River.

Big Shoals State Park
Big Shoals State Park has 28 miles of trails for hiking and cycling, including the 3.4 mile Woodpecker Trail, a bike trail between the Little Shoals and Big Shoals entrances to this large park.

Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park
Olustee is the third state park in the area, it commemorates the site of Florida's largest Civil War battle on February 20, 1864.
